Theater aan het Vrijthof wants to offer you as a visitor the best service as possible, therefore we need certain personal data. Though your privacy is of big importance for us. That's why we follow the privacy law. In this privacy statement, we'd like to explain you which personal data we ask from you, with which purpose, how long this information will be stored and which rights you have.
Which personal information do we store?
Theater aan het Vrijthof stores personal data with (online) purchases of tickets and/or because you share this information with us (for example in the contact form).
The following personal data will be stored and processed by us:
- your sex, for the right salutation
- your first and last name
- your address data
- your e-mail address
- your phone number
- your order history
The information above is necessary to deliver our service. This data is saved in your personal account enviroment and you can, after logging in, consult and modify it at all times.
Besides that, we optionally ask you for your date of birth. We do this to get to know you a bit better and so we can send you more targeted messages about performances and news that might be interesting for you. You are not obligated to share this information. And also these data you can consult and adjust in your personal account.
It can occur that Theater aan het Vrijthof asks you for your IBAN number during direct contact. This number will only be used to handle a transaction and/or retour of a money amount. For your own safety we do not save your IBAN number! Thereby it may occur that in different situations we ask you multiple times for this number.
Why do we ask for your data?
We process your data for following purposes:
To make a correct handling of your order possible
If you place an order with us, we need your personal data to complete this. For example we need your (e-mail) address to actually send you the tickets.
Optimal implementation of the service
In the event of changes and/or cancellations of performances, we must be able to inform you about this (via e-mail and/or telephone). In addition, we will send you a service message from a practical point of view, on one hand to remind you of an approaching show and on the other hand to give you extra information to make your visit as pleasant as possible (think of information about the duration of the shows, the end time, any breaks, introductions, theater shuttles, parking options, etc.) In addition, we store your order history in our system. If you have unexpectedly lost the tickets or forgot to bring them with you, we can print them again for you.
Keep you informed about the offer of Theater aan het Vrijthof by sending news letters, direct mailings and post mailings
We would like to keep you informed of our programming, because it is on the move. We would also like to keep you informed of news and special discount or win promotions. We only send emails if you have given your permission. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time.
How long do we store your data?
Theater aan het Vrijthof doesn't store collected personal data longer than strictly neccesary, or arranged by law, to realize the purposes wherefore the data are collected. For this we ply per goal following retention periods:
Your personal data in your personal account:
When you have not used your personal account over the last 5 years, we will anonymise your personal data. This means that the data will no longer be traceable to your person. If you are subscribed to our newsletter, your personal data will remain in our systems and your account will remain active. If you wish to anonymise your personal data earlier, you can at any time let us know by contacting via e-mail.
Subscriptions for mailings and newsletters:
You will remain subscribed to promotional e-mails and newsletters, as long as you wish to receive these.
Mailings and news letters
Theater aan het Vrijthof sends out various notifications to make your experience as optimal as possible. Theater aan het Vrijthof distinguishes the following messages: service mails, newsletters, direct mailings and post mailings.
Servicemails
Servicemails are 'information e-mails' and a relevant part of our service, such as mails with your purchased tickets or practical information about a performance you are visiting.
News letters, direct mailings and post mailings
Besides informative mailings, we'd like to keep you posted about all developments around the programming, our theater and the artists and companies that perform at our theater.
We will always explicity ask your permission to e-mail you. You give permission by selecting the option ‘Yes, I would like to subscribe to the newsletter’ in your personal account, or during the ticket purchasing process. You can end your subscription to these e-mails or newsletters at all times. You can do so by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of these e-mails or in your own personal account.
You will continue to receive the aforementioned servicemails with i.e. purchased tickets or practical information about a performance you are visiting, even if you have unsubscribed to our newsletter.
- Newsletters: Mailing with news, additional bookings and an overview of our approaching offer.
- Direct mailings: Mailing about an approaching performance based on previously visited companies or artists by you.
- Post mailings: Incidentionally post mailings are sent to keep you posted about our offer or a special action.
Sharing data with third parties
Theater aan het Vrijthof normally doesn't share your data with third parties, unless this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to fulfill the obligation by law or when you've agreed to it yourself. With organisations that process your data on our behalf, we agree to a processing agreement to make sure we have a same level of security and confidentialty of your data. Theater aan het Vrijthof remains responsible for these processings. Below you find the exeptions.
Theater aan het Vrijthof does share data with home company philharmonie zuidnederland; this only concerns data of visitors of previous concerts of philharmonie zuidnederland who agreed to this. The Dutch Dance Festival and Musica Sacra Maastricht are part of Theater aan het Vrijthof. Also these festivals utilize data of Theater aan het Vrijthof.
Besides that, visitors' data of NDT performances is shared with the company. Specifically, we will share your name, postal code, town/city and e-mail address based on the NDT performance you have visited. We do this so that NDT is able to contact you to: 1. provide you with information concering the performance or offers for this performance, and 2. execute data analyses and customer satisfaction surveys. Your data will not be shared with third parties by NDT. NDT asks you in addition via e-mail emphatically for permission to process the data received by us. If you don't agree to this, you can contact NDT directly to have your data erased.
Cookies
Theater aan het Vrijthof uses cookies. These are pieces of text that temporarily are put on your harddisk and that amongst others make it possible to remember which performances you save in you shopping cart. These so-called cookies don't contain personal data and only serve to support the funtionality of the website. When you've turned off the use of cookies in your browser, you can still visit the website. However certain parts of the website won't work, or won't work optimally.
Google Analytics
We also use analytical cookies from Google Analytics. With the information from Google Analytics, we optimise the usability of our website for the visitors. No personal information is stored. We will not share your personal data with other (third party) parties. Your IP address is anonymous because the last part of the code is masked.
Google services
In addition, Theater aan het Vrijthof uses other Google services, such as Google Ads. Marketing cookies may be stored for personalised and non-personalised advertising.

Security
Theater aan het Vrijthof considers the protection of your personal data very important and therefore stores and processes the personal data on systems that are both physically and technically protected. Theater aan het Vrijthof applies physical, electronic, organizational and procedural security aimed at securing your personal data. At Theater aan het Vrijthof, access to your personal data is only possible for authorized employees.
If you have the impression that your data is not properly secured, or if you see indications of abuse, or if you want more information about the protection of personal data collected by us, please contact us by e-mail.
View, modify or delete data
You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. You can request this by e-mail. We will respond to your request as soon as possible.
Please note: if you make a request to delete your data and you are in possession of tickets for a future activity at one of our locations, we will no longer be able to inform you in the event of calamities (cancellations or relocations).
Every time you visit our website, the Privacy Statement that applies at that time applies to you. Theater aan het Vrijthof reserves the right to change this Privacy Statement. We request that you read the Privacy Statement every time you visit the website to ensure that you agree with the content.
