In Resistance! Sahand Sahebdivani explores different forms of resistance, within and outside of his own Iranian story. He was born in Tehran and fled with his family to the Netherlands in 1983 during the Iran-Iraq war. His own turbulent family history forms the basis of most of his work.

In addition to being a charismatic storyteller, Sahand is also a musician. He plays oriental strings and percussion and sings in Turkish, Farsi and Kurdish, among other languages. In Resistance! Sahand alternates his stories with spoken word, audio and visual archival materials and exciting live music by jazz drummer and virtuoso Henning Luther.
