On Friday afternoon, the festival traditionally starts with the Debate of Dutch Dance, which this year focuses on the 'theatre of the future'.

The Call to Action, which the Nederlandse Dansdagen submitted to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Council for Culture in February, will be used as the basis for numerous conversations taking place during the festival.

As part of the debate, five dance artists will provide an idiosyncratic perspective on their dreams and their visions of the future, as well as share inspiring stories.
