Boundless imagination, exuberant choreography, tender dance, and a totally new take on Tchaikovsky's famous music. After the resounding success of performances like Swan Lake and Carmen, Introdans presents a grand new adaptation of a beloved ballet classic for the whole family.
Get carried away by The Nutcracker, in a completely unique interpretation by the Belgian choreographer Jeroen Verbruggen. His version does not contain a Christmas tree, sugar fairy or presents but does contain all the magic and enchantment you expect from The Nutcracker.
Magical, contemporary version of the beloved ballet classic. For everyone from 6 to 106 years old.
Verbruggen remains largely faithful to the original Nutcracker-story by E.T.A. Hoffmann. Only in his version, Marie (called Clara in some ballet versions) is not a young cute girl, but an adolescent who feels lost in her own body. In her dreams, she goes in search of herself. This version is therefore primarily about "cracking" your own shell, your own nut, in order to discover your true identity.
In addition to the dazzling choreography, you can enjoy the dreamland setting and the lavish, baroque costumes of the Parisian fashion duo On Aura Tout Vu (Livia Stoianova and Yassen Samouilov), whose clientele includes stars such as Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Madonna and Christina Aguilera. Presented in the Netherlands for the first time!
