Architecture of the Invisible
NDT 1
Clowns (2016), the first work Hofesh Shechter created for NDT, explores the complexity of life, the struggle for shared values and the raw, human desire for liberation. Experience the energetic intensity of a choreography that revolves around both light and darkness, as opposing but inseparable life forces.
Darkness and the unimaginable rhythms of human life are the focus of Jiří Kylián's Vanishing Twin (2008). Inspired by the medical phenomenon of the same name - in which one fetus displaces its twin in the womb - the work symbolizes impermanence, repressed emotions and the dark side we all have but would rather not reveal.
Christos Papadopoulos' new work explores subtle, everyday social connections, highlighting the beauty of the most profound connections that are often unnoticed. A new voice for NDT, the Greek choreographer has a penchant for a minimalist and precise movement language. Through small, yet intensely physical gestures, Papadopoulos pays tribute to the power of the invisible, transporting the audience into a mysterious environment without beginning or end.
