The opening concert of Internationaal Festival Vocallis presents a varied musical program.
The Limburgs Jeugd Symfonie Orkest is conducted by the well-known and energetic Sander Teepen and opens with the famous Moldau from Ma Vlast by Smetana. Internationally acclaimed cellist Quirine Viersen shines with Bruch and Dvořák. In addition to well-known melodies from operas by Mozart, Verdi and Puccini, excerpts from musicals such as The Sound of Music and West Side Story will be heard. Finally, the festival will be officially and spectacularly opened with Tchaikovsky's Overture 1812.
