In the Europe of the High Middle Ages, gigantic Gothic cathedrals found their counterpart in monumental, polyphonic musical constructions.
With revolutionary masters of music such as Leoninus and Perotinus, and poets such as Adam de Saint-Victor and Pierre Abelard, Notre-Dame in Paris became the cradle of polyphony. The mysterious but gorgeous chants of these pioneers fit the crystalline voices of Discantus like a glove.
