Brahms en een bloedstollende Liszt

Philzuid

04.04.2025 - Philzuid - Brahms - Anika Vavic (piano) - © Marco Borggreve (1).jpg

Brahms' four symphonies are among the most beloved orchestral repertoire. They express the whole range of human emotions as one breathing symphonic cosmos. Schönberg arranged Brahms' Piano Quartet to create a ‘Fifth Symphony of Brahms’. The splashing tempo of this work blends excellently with Liszt's blood-curdling ‘Dance of Death’ and Kodály's swirling dances. Jun Märkl and piano soloist Anika Vavić have had a special musical friendship for years. No wonder Märkl immediately nominated her when Philzuid asked him for this concert.
