There is much to like about Bernstein. An icon of music history, in the spotlights once again after the recent release of the film Maestro. Bernstein was compelling with all his being. Known for famous musical blockbusters like West Side Story, but also a composer who sought out and crossed the boundaries between classical and other genres. He also presented a program on television about classical music for many years. It is only right that this composer and conductor is the focus of 'the Pinkpop of classical music' (De Limburger).
The Componistendag is a coproduction by Theater aan het Vrijthof and Philzuid.
