Ensemble les Pianos Folies is a brand new chamber music formation made up of the best students of Maastricht Conservatory. Consisting of eleven members, the ensemble can vary in size, mood, emotion and style according to the circumstances. Easily the ensemble combines vast chamber music works such as the Octet of Schubert and/or Glinka’s Grand Sextet, with intimate chamber music works such as for instance a Brahms Piano Trio.
The range of music from different times and places to choose from with this ensemble is also very large: starting with Mozart and Beethoven, to Schubert, through the Romanticism of Brahms, or the Russian Romanticism of Glinka and Tchaikovsky, reaching the 20th century with Richard Strauss, Jean Francaix and even Astor Piazzolla. Audiences are guaranteed an enjoyable and diverse concert, with the ensemble mixing strings, two pianists and different wind-instruments. The ensemble is guided and coached by renowned pianist inspirational teacher Anastasia Safonova. In may 2023 the ensemble will play concerts in one of France’s most well-known Chamber Music Festivals, ‘les Pianos Folies’.
