Music that makes the heart beat faster. The talented bassoon player Thomas Dulfer presents the program Palpitations, a collection of his favourite music. Not your average concert, as bassoon solo recitals are extremely rare.

For his recital, Dulfer combines all his passions: playing, composing and research based on his expertise as a heart specialist. In his composition Heart SOLO he shows what happens to his heartbeat while playing by amplifying it live. The heartbeat of the audience is also processed in the piece Syntheny of Hearts. In addition, Dulfer plays a whole range of bassoon solo works, including music by Kinan Azmeh and Sacra partitura, the first piece written for the bassoon.
