Keuze en compositie II
Quatuor Bozzini
After an acclaimed concert last year, Quatuor Bozzini returns with two concerts. John Cage’s Four from 1989 marks one of the highlights within his last phase of creation, where the title of the works always refers to the number of performers. Within these compositions, the musicians are free in the timing of their musical material through so-called ‘time brackets’. The result of this is a melancholic-sounding work, which seems to bear witness to a purifying introspection. The second composition in the Lutherse Kerk is About Bach by Cassandra Miller from 2015. Miller turned a phrase from the famous chaconnne of Bach's Second Violin Partita into a wonderfully meandering chorale. During the concert in the Keizerzaal, Éliane Radigue's incantatory Occam Delta XV will be played.
