There was a lot of traveling going on around 1700: the rich made trips abroad to learn and experience, merchants and artists to buy and sell, musicians to spot trends or start a fad. The Counterpoints follow in the footsteps of the Musicista Itinerante with music that recalls the special connection between Italy and the British Isles.
The Counterpoints met while studying Early Music at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. They are now welcome guests on national and international stages. Their first album, with music by Telemann, was Editor's Choice in the prestigious Gramophone magazine.
In collaboration with Organisatie Oude Muziek.
