DarkVelvet
Julija Hartig (viool) & Reineke Broekhans (piano)
With great sensitivity and fury, Serbian-Dutch violinist Julija Hartig interprets a classical and contemporary repertoire. During her autobiographically tinged recital DarkVelvet, she plays compositions that are dear to her or written especially for her.
Her regular piano partner Reineke Broekhans will join her. Expect contemporary Serbian chamber music by Isidora Zebeljan and by Julija’s composing father Tibor Hartig. However, the duo will also play brand-new compositions by Dutch tone poets, including Calliope Tsoupaki. For her debut album DarkVelvet, Hartig received an Edison Klassiek 2023 and a Luister 10 from Luister Magazine. The jury praised her 'completely individual and personal idiom: from intimate and shrouded to raw and trippy'.
